Twice a year Armour College of Engineering holds a Student Funding request period for engineering students, student groups, or student organizations. Students compete for funding based on the quality of proposal submitted, experience the funding will provide, and how the funded experience will positively impact the Illinois Tech and Armour College community.

Twice a year Armour College of Engineering holds a proposal request period for engineering students, student groups, or student organizations who would like to request funding for projects that will positively impact the Illinois Tech and Armour College community. The deadline for proposals this fall is September 16, 2016A call for proposals for the spring student funding program will occur in January 2017.

Armour College of Engineering is now accepting proposals for engineering students, student groups or student organizations who would like to request funding for projects that will positively impact the IIT and Armour College community. The second deadline for proposals this academic year is February 10, 2016.

The IIT chapter of Engineers Without Borders recently had a case study published in a special edition of the International Journal for Service Learning in Engineering, Humanitarian Engineering and Social Entrepreneurship (IJSLE) focusing on the critical analyses and reflection of university engineering programs that impact communities.

The IIT Student Chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) has received an Outstanding Student Chapter Award for the 2013 - 2014 school year. The award is presented annually to Student Chapters that show an exceptional level of participation, enthusiasm, program quality, professionalism, and involvement in the university and community.
